Hello, I am direct lineage of Garten, Eugene (Gene) Darryl (b. June 2, 1930) and Juanita Vance. They were married in Merced, CA July 5, 1953. No papers for marriage, death, census records, etc can I locate his parents names. I have been told his family owned property in or around Hayward/Eureka, CA area. Specifically a farm of some sort. He did divorce my grandmother and remarried and lived in Eureka most of his life , off and on until his death in Nov. 2017. If you cannot look for me can you help me figure out how to look for property records with last name Garten?
The family mentioned above has never claimed government enrollment with the Cherokee Tribes at any time; only ancestry. The woman mentioned above has never claimed government enrollment at any time with the Cherokee Tribes; only ancestry. At the date of this comment, no book is published, or has ever been published, by this author. Sorry we couldn’t help you in your search, Juanita. Best of luck to you. –Sincerely, The Barlow Family.

Trying to verify a person is enrolled or not in CA for Cherokee Tribe as they claim. Thomas Denman Barlow, Sonoma County, birthdate 1902.. Called “Grandpa Den” and lived on Klamath River or close. Census of 1910 states he is approx. 8 YO and WHITE but ancestor is claiming him as enrolled Cherokee and authors books, does talk shows with this same claim. Her name is Alyssa Adisi Waya Alexandria Barlow, (Adisi Waya – not real name).
Dear Barlow Family,
What about the book “Spots of the Fawn” and a previous publication about spirituality in which Ms Barlow has a headshot in front of the title on the internet? I also saw a post in which she claimed she was “on the rolls” when asked about her Cherokee heritage. So, after further research I have also seen some posts from 2012 about this person that was charging folks to take them on story telling ventures in California around Mt Shasta. I am sure this is all the same person, so thankyou “Barlow Family” for your response but I tend to believe the census bureau and that written by this person as well. Have a great day, it has been a pleasure.
