Biographical Sketch of Alfred M. Bonhard

Bonhard, Alfred M.; merchant; born in Russia, July, 1869; son of Marcus Bonhard; educated in the schools and seminary at Slonin, Russia; married in Pennsylvania, July 22, 1898; Rebecca Weberman, issue, one son, Marcus, and one daughter Florence; in young manhood traveled through Russia and other parts of Europe, learning the furniture-making business; came to the United States in 1895; spent two years working in eastern cities; came to Cleveland and started a repair shop; from this small beginning grew one of the most artistic furniture houses in the city, designs his own patterns and has won a reputation on art furniture; member of the independent Order of B’nai B’rith.
