Baker, Daisy Maude Crader Mrs. – Obituary

Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon

Mrs. Leonard Baker passed away at the Grande Ronde hospital in La Grande Sunday, October 9, 1938. She had been ill only a week. The first trouble was reported as a blood clot in a vein and gangrene developed, necessitating the amputation of one leg. Other complications set in and quickly proved fatal.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Baptist church in Enterprise, conducted by Rev. H.V. Sorensen, pastor of the La Grande Nazarene church and burial was in the Enterprise cemetery.

Daisy Maude Crader was born in Jackson county, Missouri, April 28, 1876, a daughter of T.E. and Margaret Crader. When she as 10 years old she crossed the plains with her parents, coming to Wallowa county, where the family lived in the Enterprise district for many years. She and her husband moved to La Grande two and a half years ago and Mr. Baker died in February, 1937.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. James Pullen and one son, Maurice, both of La Grande, and two grandsons; also two sisters, Mrs. Mary Heinrich of Oregon City, Charles of Imnaha and Albert of White River, Idaho.

Mrs. Baker was always a faithful and loving wife and mother, willing to do more than her share for her friends. She was a member of the Nazarene church.
