Isodore Baker, age 73, at 2245 14th St., passed away Sunday in the Veterans Hospital in Boise, Idaho. Graveside service for Mr. Baker will be conducted Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Rev. Joseph Reeves of the St. Francis Cathedral will officiate. The Baker Veterans will fold the flag at the graveside. Arrangements are under the direction of Gray’s West & Co. Pioneer Chapel.
Mr. Baker was born in Baker, Oregon November 29, 1903 the son of Peter and Hortense Poymbrock Baker. He went to school in Baker and Beaver Creek. He was married to his wife Mary Ann McClanahan Sept. 15, 1943. She passed away several years ago. He was a farmer most of his life and also worked in the saw mills. He served in the Army in WWII.
Survivors include tow sister, Mrs. Claudia Thurston of Portland, Or., and Mrs. Mary Larin of Isle, Minn.; one nephew, James B. King of Baker, Oregon; and one niece, Mrs. Velma Thompson of Albany, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers, one half brother, and one sister. He was a member of St. Francis Cathedral Catholic Church, Baker, Oregon.
