Standart, Henry Needham; public accountant; born, New Albany, Ind., May 25, 1868; son of George Henry and Myra B. Allen Standart; educated, public schools; later studied law under, a prominent attorney, and was admitted to the Ohio Bar, March 11, 1897; married, Columbus, O., June 12, 1895, Bertha Bassett Browne; at the age of 14, entered the employ of the Standard Oil Co.; continued with them for about twenty years; for six years, held the position of senior accountant, for nine years, chief accountant in their office at Columbus, O.; two years, sec’y and treas. the H. H. Hessler Co.; for seven years, has been engaged in the practice of public accounting; director and sec’y The Fred A. Lee Realty Co.; member Chamber of Commerce, Cleveland Credit Mens Ass’n, Tyrian Lodge, Masonic Temple; in 1850, his grandfather, Needham Maynard Standart, became a resident of Cleveland, building the old homestead on Detroit Ave., between Waverly and Gordon Aves.; this house is still one of the city’s landmarks.
