Roscoe E. “Roc” Duncan, 72, 2039 Cherry St., a longtime Keating area rancher, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1986, at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital.
His Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grays’ West & Co. Pioneer Chapel, 1500 Dewey Ave. Monsignor Charles t. Grant of St. Francis Cathedral will officiate. Private interment will follow at Big Creek Cemetery near Medical Springs.
Mr. Duncan was born on Sept. 9, 1913, at lower Powder Valley to W. H. “Win” and Emma Holt Duncan. He attended Medical Springs and Baker schools. He married Ruth H. Hermsen in Baker on Sept, 23, 1937.
He was a life member of the Baker Elk Lodge, and past Master of the Medical Springs Grange. He was the past Chairman of the Keating Soil conservation District. He was a 4-H Leader for many years and was past a past Junior Show Chairman. He also was an honorary member of the baker Chapter of Future Farmers of America.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Baker; a son, Roscoe Eugene “Gene” Duncan Jr. of Baker; two daughters, Emmy Bellows of Ontario and Sister Kay Marie Duncan of Portland; a sister, Mildred Williams of Portland; an uncle, Leslie Duncan of Baker; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and eight nieces and nephews.
The family suggest memorial contributions to the Oregon Lung Association through Grays’ West & Co. Pioneer Chapel.
