Harry Paul Billerbeck, 60, Summerville, died Tuesday in St. Helens of a heart attack. He was in St. Helens as a superintendent of a job in progress for A. J. Zinda Construction Co.
Born in Rockford, Wash., he moved with his family to Wallowa County at the age of six. He attended schools until he began farming in 1929. After marriage to the former Bernice Slack of Enterprise in 1935, he moved to Union County to farm, later purchasing a farm here. Twelve years ago he went to work for the Zinda firm as a millwright.
Survivors include widow Bernice; son Darrel, Elma, Wash.; daughter Mrs. Joyce Brown, Kent, Ore.; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ellis Billerbeck and a sister, Evelyn Lovell.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel, La Grande, pastor Paul O. Jewell, La Grande United Methodist Church, officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow in Summerville Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel until 2 p.m. Friday.
The family suggests memorial contributions for those who wish to Oregon Heart Association, 1500 SW 12th Portland.
