R. R. Williams emigrated from the state of Arkansas in the year 1866 and located in Black Jack Grove, where he has since lived. He married Miss Susan Ward at the age of twenty-two years, in Arkansas. Nine children were the result of this union, six of whom are living. They are all citizens of the county, live near their parents and are doing well. The “Caddo proper,” or Cenis as they were called by Joutel, early occupied the southwestern part of the present State of Arkansas, the Red River Valley, and adjacent region to the south and west. La Salle was murdered near the banks of the Trinity, in eastern Texas, March 20, 1687.
