Milns, Anna Katherine Mueller – Obituary

Long-time Ellensburg resident Anna K. Milns died early Wednesday at a local rest home.She was 89. Born November 26, 1880 at St. James, Minn., she came to the Ellensburg area with her family when she was 2. In 1909 she was marred to Martin Wippel. He died in 1915. In 1930 she married Frank Milns and they moved to Auburn where they resided for 10 years. Following his death in 1941, she returned to Ellensburg where she has since made her home. Mrs. Orilla Fogarty Parker, 49, a native of Ellensburg, died at her home at 608 North Ruby Street last night [November 23, 1948] following an illness of two months. She had been in failing health for several years. Mrs. Parker, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward F. Fogarty, Kittitas Valley pioneers, was born here in 1899. She married her husband, Fred C. Elmer Peffers, 47, died here this morning [June 14, 1935] after a short illness. Born here and for most of his life a resident of the valley. Mr. Peffers is survived by two sisters, Emma Waters and Mary McEwen; and four brothers, John, Leavenworth; William and Burton, Ellensburg; and Albert, Sunnyside. Mrs. Roxy L. Pease, who died Oct. 31st was born Aug. 28th 1832, in Steuben County, New York. At the age of 20 she married B. S. [Benjamin Salisbury] Pease and soon after immigrated to the then territory of Iowa. After a few years residence there the family again immigrated, this time to territory of Minnesota, where they lived until 1877, when they came to Kittitas Valley where she resided until the time of her death. Passing of John Taylor With the burial of John Taylor upon the old home ranch at Bristol last Saturday afternoon, there passed over the Great Divide another Kittitas county’s honored pioneers. He was born in Wise county, West Va., in 1851 and died at his home at Bristol station December 12, 1917, of cancer. Mrs. Ida M. Gerard, 91, a former Ellensburg resident, died Wednesday at the Central Memorial Hospital in Toppenish. She had been in the hospital one day, having been in the Parkside Sanitarium in Toppenish since March 21. She was born July 26, 1866, in Covington, Kentucky. She was married to Joseph N.
