Hon. Isaac M. Hinds. Mound Valley and Labette County have for many years been the scene of the extensive business and public activities of Isaac M. Hinds. Some years ago that district sent Mr. Hinds to represent its interests in the State Senate, and he is still a member of the upper house of the State Legislature. Though he had spent nearly all his years in Kansas, Senator Hinds was born in Cole County, Missouri, December 30, 1862. He was brought to this state when an infant. Enterprise, Oregon John C. Stein, 96, of Enterprise, died Monday 21, 1990, at the Wallowa County Nursing Home. He was born in Spokane county, Washington. At the age of 14, he moved with his family to Wallowa county in a covered wagon. On May 26, 1918, he married Alta L. Fisher of Wallowa. To this union twelve children were born. Mr. Stein was a farmer for many years, later working for Wallowa County Grain Growers and the Joseph Stud Mill until he retired at age 65. Wallowa, Oregon Guy Tully died at the home of his parents here last Saturday evening as a result of the “Flu.” He was 29 years of age, a graduate of the Puyallup, Wash., high school and the Washington State College. He was born in Wallowa and many friends and relatives mourn his going. He was married last August to Miss Ethel Mitchell. His funeral service was held from the home Sunday afternoon, Rev. C.C.
