D- Virginia Indian Villages, Towns and Settlements

A complete listing of all the Indian villages, towns and settlements as listed in Handbook of Americans North of Mexico.

Dogi. Mentioned by Lederer (Discov., 2, 1672) as a people who inhabited the piedmont region of Virginia before the appearance of the historic tribes in that section. They were extinct at the time of his journey in 1670. Apparently distinct from the Doeg (Nanticoke).
