Cathlacumup Tribe

The Cathlacumup Indians, a Chinookan tribe, historically inhabited the west bank of the lower Willamette River near its confluence with the Columbia River. Their territorial claims extended to Deer Island, Oregon. In 1806, Lewis and Clark recorded an estimated population of 450 members. By 1850, the tribe was noted by Lane as being affiliated with the Namoit and Katlaminimim tribes.
