Biographical Sketch of Louis Wolsey

Louis Wolsey, born on January 8, 1877, in Midland, Michigan, was an influential rabbi and educator. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati and Hebrew Union College. Wolsey served as rabbi for Congregation BNe Israel in Little Rock, Arkansas, from 1899 to 1907, before moving to the Euclid Avenue Temple in Cleveland, where he oversaw the construction of a new temple. He was a member of various professional and fraternal organizations and served as Chaplain-General of the Arkansas State Guard.
