James H. Weldon. This gentleman is a native of the county whose annals this volume sets forth, and was here born on the 28th of February, 1858. He is the son of James B. and Elizabeth T. Weldon, both of whom are now dead. The father, James B. Weldon, was also a native of DaViess county, the date of his birth being December 26, 1828. In about 1852, he left this county and went to California, and engaged a year or two in mining. Biography of W. G. Weldon

W. G. Weldon was born in Hart county, Kentucky, November 29, 1835; son of Jonathan and Sarah Weldon, nee Burch. They were both natives of Pittsylvania county, Virginia, and were reared there, but moved to Hart county, Kentucky, and were there married and lived from 1830 till 1856, then moved to Missouri and located in Harrison county. His father died on April 20th, 1880, but his mother is still a resident of Daviess county. James I. Weldon was born in Hart county, Kentucky, in 1843. His parents were Jonathan and Sallie Weldon, with whom he moved to Missouri in 1855, where he has lived since that time, in the counties of Harrison and Daviess. He received his education in the schools of these counties in Kentucky and Missouri. Mr. Weldon has been engaged in farming all of his life, and now owns a nicely improved farm adjoining the town of Salem.
