The series contains original affidavits of registration that record personal information about each registrant, their photograph affixed to the majority of documents, and the registrants fingerprints. All of these are specific to Kansas, and most have the actual documents attached.

Biography of W. J. Theis

W. J. Theis, born on September 19, 1865, in Eberfeld, Germany, immigrated to Racine County at fifteen and has been integral to its commercial development. After brief work as a farmhand, he gained skills in cabinetmaking, worked in various factories, and ran a hardware store before entering the saloon business. In 1902, he purchased a farm in Raymond Township and began operating a general store. Married to Josephine Ellis, they have one daughter, Margaret, and are active members of St. Luke’s Catholic Church.

Biography of P. F. Theis, M. D.

Dr. P. F. Theis, born in 1885 in Weir, Kansas, has emerged as a notable figure in the Kansas medical community, representing the new generation of physicians. With a degree from Ensworth Central College, he began his practice in Weir before moving to Arma, where he has established a successful career in medicine and surgery. A dedicated professional, Dr. Theis is involved in multiple medical societies and is committed to continuous learning. He married Maude Cooke in 1907, and they have one son, Frank.
