Sorensen, Amelia Marguerite Jensen – Obituary

Word was received in Ellensburg Monday morning of the death of Mrs. Amelia Sorensen, 68, in Seattle [February 21, 1938]. Mrs. Sorensen moved to Seattle a year ago from Ellensburg, where she had resided since 1890. She was married to Swan Sorenson in 1895. He preceded her in death a year ago. She is survived by a son, Andrew Sorenson of Ellensburg and two daughters, Marguerite and Amelia Sorenson of Seattle. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Honeycutt Chapel with Rev. R. A. Mrs. Soren Sorenson, 77, a Kittitas Valley pioneer, died Tuesday [September 3, 1940] at the Ellensburg General Hospital following a two week’s illness. Born Nielsine Pedersen in Holme, Denmark, Sept. 10, 1862, she came to America at the age of 27, living in the state of Ohio for a short time before coming to the Kittitas Valley in 1889 with her brother, Peder Pedersen. Lewis Howard Wirth, 81, a former Baker City resident, died July 29, 2009, at Orem, Utah. His funeral was Monday at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home in North Orem, Utah. Interment was at the Orem City Cemetery. Lewis was born on July 10, 1928, to Joseph and Inez Wirth at Burns Lake, British Columbia, where he lived until the age of 8. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at Honeycutt’s for Swan Sorensen, 73, well-known farmer here for the past 50 years, who passed away Tuesday [January 9, 1937] at his home on Route 2. Rev. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at The Langrell Mortuary Chapel for William Albert Sorensen, 81. He died Feb. 28, at his home. Sorensen, a native of Burley, Ida., was a retired farmer. He was a member of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
