W. A. Scarboro

Corporal W. A. Scarboro, from Wake County and the son of Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Scarboro, enlisted in the military service on July 31, 1918. His training began at Wendell, North Carolina, before he was reassigned to various locations including Kelly Field in Texas, Buffalo, New York, and finally Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He attained the rank of Corporal in September 1918 and was mustered out on March 31, 1919, at Fort Sam Houston.

Ellis A. Scarboro

Corporal Ellis A. Scarboro served in Company C of the 30th Division, 115th Machine Gun Battalion, hailing from Wake County. He enlisted on April 9, 1917, and trained at Camp Sevier before being transferred to Camp Merritt. Scarboro sailed to France on May 8, 1918, and participated in all engagements with his unit. He returned to the United States on April 2, 1919, and was mustered out at Camp Jackson on April 9, 1919.

Randle H. Scarboro

Randle H. Scarboro served as a Corporal in Co. B, 3rd Division, 3rd Regiment, American Troops, hailing from Montgomery County. He entered military service in October 1917, initially at Mt. Gilead, N.C., and later transferred to Camp Jackson and Camp Merritt. Scarboro sailed to France on April 5, 1918, participating in key battles including Chateau Thierry and Meuse-Argonne before serving in the Army of Occupation from December 1918 until August 1919. He returned to the U.S. on August 25, 1919, and was mustered out on September 3, 1919.
