Biographical Sketch of Robert Ogden Rote

Robert Ogden Rote, born on March 22, 1871, in Geneva, Ohio, was a railway engineer educated at Geneva Normal School. He joined the Michigan Central Railroad in 1889 and later worked for the L. S. M. S. R. R., where he became assistant chief engineer. Rote married Harriet Louise Lowe in 1893 and had one daughter. He was active in professional organizations such as The American Railway Engineering Association and The Cleveland Engineering Society, and was a member of various local clubs.
