The series contains original affidavits of registration that record personal information about each registrant, their photograph affixed to the majority of documents, and the registrants fingerprints. All of these are specific to Kansas, and most have the actual documents attached.

Biographical Sketch of Alexander Printz

Alexander Printz, born on November 29, 1869, in Kassa, Hungary, was a notable merchant. He received his education in Cleveland and briefly attended a preparatory school for Columbia School of Mines. In 1897, he married Almira Steele in Erie, Pennsylvania. After leaving school at 17, he worked as a stock boy and later became a traveling salesman before founding Printz-Biederman Co. in 1893, which became a leading manufacturer of ladies’ coats and suits in Cleveland, employing over 1,000 people by 1904.
