She lived at 4 Regent Circle, Brookline, Mass. Children: I. Mina, b. July 14, 1855, d. Aug. 12, 1899. II. Leland Todd, b. Jan. 28, 1857, m. and had issue: (1) Leland Hoyt, b. Nov. 29, 1896, d. 1897; (2) Hiram Merrill, b. Aug. 14, 1899. III. Lois Van Ness, b. July 25, 1871, d. Oct. 31, 1873.

These families are brought down to the heads of families in the First Census (1790), and include the generation born about 1790 to 1800. Matthew Watson (d. 1720), of English lineage, married Mary Orr in 1695, and in 1718 the family immigrated from Ireland to Boston, Massachusetts and settled in Leicester, Massachusetts. In the following information all the names, dates and other essential particulars which appear in the returns to the Court in the County of Worcester during the entire period – a full half-century, from 1737 to 1788 – in which these entries were made, are given. The returns from each place have been brought together and arranged under the name of the town or district, in this case Bolton Massachusetts.
During the four years of war for the suppression of the Rebellion, Norwich furnished 178 different men for the armies of the Union. There were seven re-enlistments, making the whole number of soldiers credited to the town 185. By the census of 1860, the number of inhabitants was 1759. It appears, therefore, that the town sent to the seat of war rather more than one in ten of its entire population, during the four years’ continuance of hostilities. North Powder, Union County, Oregon Pioneer Passes John H. Powers one of the first settlers on land in the North Powder river section, died a few days ago at Stockton, California, where he has been residing for some time. Mr. Powers is survived by four sisters. Mrs. J.L. Dodson of Baker, Mrs. Mary Hutchinson of Union, Mrs. Ellen E. Mann of Baker, and Mrs. Ida E. Turner of Colfax, California. EZEKIEL POWERS, son of Ezekiel and Hannah Hall Powers, was born in 1771, and was the first male child born in town. At the age of nineteen he married Susan Rice, and subsequently Lydia Lane and Lois Barden, and had twenty-one children-four sons and seventeen daughters; fifteen of the latter grew to womanhood, and were characterized by those qualities which distinguish the Powers family. Like his father he was remarkable for great physical power. At the age of eighty he weighed 265 pounds. He had a great memory, and was a lover of fun.
EZEKIEL POWERS, son of Lemuel and Thankful Leland Powers-a lady of uncommon intellect-was born in Grafton, Mass., March 27,1745; was one of the party who came to Croydon in the spring of 1766, for the purpose of surveying land and making other preparations for a settlement, and settled here the following year. Larnard Powers, for many years one of the leading farmers and most influential citizens of Cornish, was born at Croydon, N.H., April 20, 1808. His grandparents were Lemuel and Thankful (Leland) Powers, and his parents were Colonel Samuel and Chloe (Cooper) Powers. Colonel Powers was born at Northbridge in 1763, and was a soldier and officer of the Revolution.
