S. C. Poteat

S. C. Poteat served as a 1st Class Private with the 6th Machine Gun Battalion in the Replacement Division during World War I. He entered military service on July 22, 1918, in Charlotte, North Carolina, and proceeded to Camp Hancock in Georgia before being transferred to Camp Merritt in New Jersey. Poteat sailed for France on November 10, 1918, and returned to the United States on January 30, 1919, where he was mustered out at Camp Lee, Virginia, on February 18, 1919.
