Platowsky

S. Platowsky, born on February 14, 1847, in Bohemia, immigrated to the United States in 1869, initially settling in St. Louis before moving to Tennessee and then to Guthrie, where he opened a photography business in 1871. In 1872, he established a retail store that grew significantly, with his stock increasing from $50 to approximately $12,000. Platowsky, married to L. C. Halscel in 1871, has four children from this union. His store is noted as the oldest in Guthrie.
