Biography of Charles F. Packard
Charles F. Packard, a prominent resident of Riverside, owns twelve acres of land on Bandini Avenue, purchased in 1876. He shifted from deciduous fruits to a flourishing citrus orchard and established a successful nursery business since moving to Riverside in 1881. Born in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, in 1850, Packard previously worked in shoe manufacturing before dedicating himself to horticulture. An independent political supporter of community improvement, he resides with his wife, Mary J. Dunbar, originally from Massachusetts.
