Biographical Sketch of William Oberdoerster

William Oberdoerster, born on January 13, 1875, in Brooklyn, Ohio, was the son of William and Victoria Fingele Oberdoerster. He attended public schools and married in Parma, Ohio, on June 28, 1898. After working at the Annhausser Malt Tonic Co. and Sylla Bottling Works, he established Oberdoerster Henkel in June 1905, later acquiring full ownership in 1909. He successfully managed the firm, specializing in bottling Akron beers and Eastern ales. He was also active in community organizations and enjoyed bowling and hunting.
