Edmund Ingalls, son of Robert, was born about 1598 in Skirbeck, Lincolnshire, England. He immigrated in 1628 to Salem, Massachusetts and with his brother, Francis, founded Lynn, Massachusetts in 1629. He married Ann, fathered nine children, and died in 1648.
J. T. Noonan, born in Virginia in 1851, moved with his family to Tennessee and later to Kentucky before spending seven years in Galway, Ireland. He returned to America, living in New York, New Jersey, and Tennessee, before settling in Dunlap, Iowa, in 1872. Initially a farmer, he worked at Dunham Guilford’s meat market before establishing his own in 1879. Noonan is actively involved in local governance and community organizations, serving on the city council, the fire department, and as president of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
William C. Noon, born in 1835 in England, immigrated to America at nine and started working in woolen mills by age thirteen. After the financial depression of 1857, he moved to California for mining and ranching but faced setbacks, leading him to Oregon in 1862. By 1869, he entered the tent and awning manufacturing business in Portland, which he expanded significantly. His leadership helped establish a major enterprise that contributed to Portland’s economic growth. Noon was also active in community service and familial life, having had two marriages and several children.
