Sonora Veranda, daughter of Martin and Mary Anne Warner, was born May 16, 1853. Died Sunday Evening at 7:30 June 10, 1923, age 70 years and 25 days. She was married to John Nading December 21, 1871. He passed away September 27, 1888. To this union were born six children, Harry, Walter, Ralph, Gertrude, Martin, and Grant. Ralph died in 1886 at the age of 6 years. Harry J. Nading, age about sixty years, native of Flat Rock, and a resident of Shelby county the greater part of his life, died Monday night [November 9, 1931] at seven o’clock at his home in St. Louis Crossing, Bartholomew county. His death was caused by pneumonia and a heart attack and followed an illness of one day less than a week. Funeral services for Wesley Nading, former resident of the Flat Rock community, whose death occurred at Indianapolis yesterday [June 9, 1933], had not been completed today, pending word from a daughter, Mrs. William Marsh, of Detroit. The body was brought to the Charles M. Ewing funeral chapel yesterday from Indianapolis. Mr. Nading at the time of death was 74 years of age. He leaves several nieces and nephews in this City. Obituary of Mary Snider Nading

The death of Mrs. Sarah E. Cropper, age 65, occurred at her home in Washington township, one mile south of Flat Rock at 4:20 o’clock this morning [August 9, 1928]. Mrs. Cropper had been ill since March suffering from heart disease and dropsy. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Cherry, Mrs. Cropper was born in this county June 18, 1863. She was married to William Cropper March 20, 1887. To this union four children were born, two of whom, Mrs. Meryl Shoaf of near Hope and Mrs. Breanious McQueen of near Flat Rock, survive. Mrs. Walter (Golda) Nading died at her home in Flat Rock Sunday afternoon [January 12, 1919] at 1:30 o’clock. Her death was caused by influenza, with which she had suffered for one week. Walter R. Nading, age 67, lifelong resident of Shelby County, dropped dead while at work Friday at the elevator in Lewis Creek. He had been in failing health and a heart attack was the cause of death. Mr. Nading was born in Shelby County in 1877, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Nading.
