The series contains original affidavits of registration that record personal information about each registrant, their photograph affixed to the majority of documents, and the registrants fingerprints. All of these are specific to Kansas, and most have the actual documents attached.

Biography of Joseph J. Moritz

Joseph J. Moritz, born on April 30, 1883, in Racine, Wisconsin, has held the position of secretary of the board of education since 1909, reflecting the trust of his community. The son of Bavarian immigrant Michael Moritz, he graduated high school in 1901 and began his career at the Racine Boat Company before advancing at the Fish Brothers Wagon Company. A dedicated public servant and active community member, Moritz is involved in St. Mary’s Church, the Knights of Columbus, and local social organizations.

Biographical Sketch of Frederick H. Moritz

Frederick H. Moritz, born in Germany on April 5, 1854, was a distinguished florist in Cleveland. He began his career in floristry in 1862 and gained experience with several prominent firms before opening his own greenhouse in 1901. Moritz was involved in various organizations, including the Foresters and the Masonic Order. He was married to Miss M. E. Kelliher in 1879 and enjoyed hunting in his leisure time.
