Biographical Sketch of Rev. William N. McKendrick

Rev. William N. McKendrick was born in 1832 in Edinburg, Scotland, and immigrated to America as a child. After moving through New York and attending the Baptist College in Montreal, he was ordained in 1875 in Michigan. In 1879, he became the pastor of the Baptist church in Mapleton, Iowa, before relocating to Fletcher in 1881. There, he engaged in his work as an undertaker and furniture dealer while also serving as the local pastor, preaching every Sunday at the schoolhouse.
