Biography of Charles Lothholz

Charles Lothholz, born in 1835 in Germany, became a significant figure in Kansas’s development after arriving in 1858. Settling in Eudora, he contributed to the community through various enterprises, most notably establishing a successful lumber business and founding the Kaw Valley State Bank. His leadership extended to public service, including multiple terms as mayor, advocating for community projects like bridges over the Kaw River. Lothholz, who was dedicated to both business and philanthropy, left a lasting legacy upon his death in 1909, survived by his wife Caroline and eight children.
