J. E. Lambert, Jr.

Regimental Sergeant Major of Headquarters Company, 30th Division, 113th Field Artillery, J. E. Lambert, Jr. was born to J. E. and Lila Bell Lambert in Nash County. He enlisted on July 28, 1917, in Raleigh, N.C., and was trained at Camp Sevier, S.C. Lambert deployed to France on May 26, 1918, participating in key battles including St. Mihiel and the Argonne Forest. He returned to the United States on March 19, 1919, and was mustered out at Camp Jackson, S.C. on March 29, 1919.

1910 Census of Fort Shaw Industrial Indian School
