(See Grant) Joseph Martin, son of John and Helen Marr (Martin) La Hay, was born August 27, 1864 at Boggy Depot in the Choctaw Nation. He married November 10, 1386 at Richmond, Missouri, Annie Russell, born December 12, 1864, at Wishaw, Scotland. They were the parents of Margaret Russell La Hay, born July 26, 1890, at Claremore. She was educated in the Claremore public schools, Drury College, Springfield, Missouri, and Mary Baldwin Seminary, Staunton, Virginia.
