Hambelton, Rick Lynn – Obituary

Rick Lynn Hambelton, born August 18, 1948, in Enterprise, Oregon, passed away on February 14, 2007, in Spokane, Washington, at the age of 59. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he worked as a mechanic after his service. He is survived by his three children, three grandchildren, his parents Robert and Margaret, and his sister Sheri. Graveside services are scheduled for June 30 at the Enterprise Cemetery, followed by a memorial at the V.F.W. Hall.

Lemuel L. Hambelton, born on October 21, 1835, in Ohio, is a distinguished pioneer and veteran who significantly contributed to the development of Union and Wallowa counties. After learning carpentry and blacksmithing, he enlisted in the Civil War, bravely serving nearly five years. Post-war, he settled in Oregon, where he established a successful farm and raised eleven children with his wife, Johana. A lifelong Republican, he remains actively engaged in community affairs and is recognized for his commitment and contributions to local history.
