Dr. Charles L. Gritman, born December 28, 1862, near Springfield, Illinois, is a prominent physician in Moscow, Idaho. He graduated from Cincinnati Medical College in 1890 and opened his practice in Moscow after the death of his mother in 1892. Dr. Gritman co-founded Gritman Ward and established the Moscow Hospital in 1897, a well-equipped facility with 60 rooms. Married to Bertie E. Cox in 1895, he is an esteemed member of his community and focuses on his medical practice rather than a political career.
