Mrs. Charles (Mildred) Goebel, who was convalescing at the Wallowa hospital following an operation for appendicitis, died suddenly Wednesday morning, March 31, 1926, as she was preparing to go to her home. Mrs. Goebel, who was operated on exactly two weeks before, apparently was recovering very nicely, and Wednesday morning Mr. Goebel had come to take her home. She was dressed and sitting on the bed. June 3, 1926, Edwin Goebel, youngest son of Peter Goebel of Wallowa, died at the Wallowa hospital this morning as a result of injuries received at the mill here Monday morning, May 24, when he was struck on the head by a 250-pound belt tightener, or “idler” when he and Fred Hebert were attempting to replace a belt which had been thrown off by a piece of bark. Huff, and published as one by the Vanderburgh Chapter of the DAR. Book A primarily covers wills written or filed within the time period of 1823-1849 and book B includes the years of 1849-1873. In both cases there are wills that fall outside those dates.

William (Bill) Frank Goebel, a lifetime resident of Wallowa, Oregon died May 12, 1982, at his home. He was 87. Born Sept. 9, 1894 in Wallowa, he was the son of Peter and Gertrude Anna (Huber) Goebel. As a young man he became a trained mechanic for Ford motorcars. With the declaration of World War I he joined the Army. Upon his return he married Annetta B.
