Biography of Capt. Hampton B. Fanchier
Captain Hampton B. Fancher, born in Overton County, Tennessee, in 1828, became a prominent figure in Boone County, Arkansas, due to his agricultural advancements and community involvement. His parents moved to Arkansas by ox-team in 1838. Capt. Fancher served in the Fourth Arkansas Infantry during the Civil War and transitioned to farming after the war, accumulating a 400-acre river farm. He was active in local politics, Masonry, and the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, illustrating a lifelong commitment to his community. He passed away in 1892.
