Biography of John J. Enyaet

John J. Enyart was born on May 15, 1838, in Missouri and later moved to Gentry County, where he faced the early deaths of both parents. He lived with his half-brother until moving to Daviess County in 1857. Enyart transitioned from farming to a successful mercantile career, operating under various partnerships until 1871. He served as collector for Salem township and Daviess County, being re-elected for his effective service. Enyart married Louisa Linville in 1863 and had three children. He was active in the Christian Church and local Masonic lodges.
