Dowdy, Marvin – Obituary

Marvin Deloy Dowdy, age 55 of Baker City, passed away Sunday February 15th at his home. Graveside funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 19th at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Mike Whitford from the First Christian Church officiated and interment followed in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Marvin Dowdy was born December 5, 1935 in Noelyville, Missouri to Adolph Dowdy who died in 1949 and Mabel Dowdy who died in 1980. Melvin attended Baker City schools. It is 9.5 miles long on a direct east and west line, averages 3 miles in width at the center, dropping at is eastern line an additional rectangle of 2 by 3 miles. La Grande, Oregon William Carrington Dowdy, 83, of La Grande, died Nov. 24 at a local care center. A celebration of life service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in La Grande. Private burial will be at the Grandview Cemetery. Viewing will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 Seventh St., La Grande. It is Andrews descendants who are featured in the manuscript.
