Biographical Sketch of Phaon H. Dornblaser

Phaon H. Dornblaser, born April 20, 1838, in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, moved to Coles County, Illinois, in 1855 with his parents. A successful farmer with 170 acres of land valued at $7,000, he contributed to his community as a School Director and Road Overseer. Dornblaser married Mary E. Jeffries in 1860, and they had four children, including a deceased son. His father, Felix, served in the 5th Cavalry during the Civil War and died in 1864 while returning home.
