The Rotary Club of Randleman compiled a History of Randleman in 1944. The History, together with a reprint of “The Story of Naomi Wise” and “Reminiscences of Randolph County” was published in the interest of preserving the early life of Randolph County, and as a club project. Robert E. Bulla

Private 1st Class Robert E. Bulla served in Company E of the 118th Regiment, 30th Division, during World War I. A resident of Guilford County and the son of W. H. and L. B. Bulla, he entered military service on May 19, 1917. After training at Camp Sevier and Camp Mills, he sailed for France on May 11, 1918, and participated in battles at Ypres and the Hindenburg Line. He returned to the United States on March 27, 1919, and was mustered out on March 31.
