Biographical Sketch of Samuel P. Bollman

Samuel P. Bollman was born on May 11, 1818, in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. After an early education and teaching career, he graduated from Allegheny Theological Seminary in 1851 and served as a Presbyterian minister for nearly twenty years. He was also a County Superintendent of Schools before moving to Virginia and then to Nebraska in 1871. Bollman became Boone County’s Treasurer in 1873, a position he still holds. He has been married twice, with three children surviving from each marriage.
