Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Brusie Funeral Home for Hazel E. Bathurst, 69, a former Chico resident who died in McKinleyville Thursday [November 23, 1972]. Services will also be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Paul’s McKinleyville Chapel. She was born in Gaston, Ore., Jan 16, 1903, and came to Chico as a child. Bathurst, Effie Imogene Franklin Lee – Obituary

Mrs. Effie Imogene Bathurst, who had resided in Chico for the past 49 years, died at the Taylor’s Nursing Home Monday following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Bathurst was born in Marion County, Oregon, on July 14, 1878, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Franklin. From 1920 until 1946, Mrs. Bathurst was employed at Richardson Springs and in 1926, was married to William J. Bathurst, Sr. She was a member of Josephine Chapter No. 104, OES of Chico, the WBA of Chico and the Pioneer Club of Chico. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of the Brusie Funeral Home for A. J. “Slim” Bathurst, 74, of McKinleyville, Humboldt County. Bathurst died Tuesday [November 16, 1976] in McKinleyville. Born in Oakland Nov. 10, 1902, he moved to Cohasset with his parents as a small child. He was educated in the Cohasset and Chico schools.
