He now looks after a large farm at Fostoria in Pottawatomie County and had been a fine factor in the founding and upbuilding of that comparatively new village of Kansas. Bartley, Lawrence, Vergennes, was born in Vergennes, Vt., in 1853. He commenced business life as a grocer and provision dealer in 1875, and in 1880 sold out and engaged in the manufacture of furniture under the firm name of Bartley, Fisher & Co., and in 1884 he engaged in the stove, tin, and house supply goods, and general plumbing and steam-fitting business.
