David LeRoy “Dave” Whitmore, 63, of Baker City, died July 10, 2006, at Corvallis.
There will be no funeral. Friends and family are invited to a potluck gathering in his memory at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Geiser Pollman Park. Visitations will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Coles Funeral Home, 1950 Place St.
Dave was born on Oct. 8, 1942, at Twin Falls, Idaho, to Glenn and Edna Hudson Whitmore. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Baker City where he grew up and was educated.
He married Mary Moreno in 1958 at Boise. They made their home in Baker City where Dave worked for 40-plus years in the tire business. He was committed to his family and attentive to his many customers. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two daughters, Debbie and Suzanne Whitmore.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; his daughter, Anna Clark, and her husband, Mike, and his son, Ricky Whitmore, all of Baker City; his sisters, Betty Presley of Burns, Terri Gutierrez of Sacramento, Calif., and Leisa Givens of Baker City; his brothers, Lance Whitmore of Milton-Freewater, and Glenn Whitmore and Ernie Whitmore, both of Burns; grandchildren, Dexter Clark, Alex Clark, Breanna Clark, Richard Whitmore; and several nieces and nephews.
