Lime Soldier Buried
Fred L. Watterson
Fred L. Watterson, 22, Lime, was interred Monday with the Rev. Donald Nothdufft(?) officiating and military services at Mt. Hope cemetery.
Cpl. Watterson was killed July 15, 1953, in action in Korea. He was an infantryman with the army. He attended schools at Huntington High school with the class of 1951.
He was active in athletics, participating in basketball, baseball, and football during his high school years. He entered the service in October 1952 and had been overseas two months when he was killed.
Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gale Watterson, Lime, brothers, William of Ellensburg, Howard, Lee and Leonard all of Bate, Lester of Lime; sisters Mrs. Wanda Willis of Enterprise, Mrs. Margaret Nelson and Mrs. Esther Mae Cody, both of Baker.
