Son of Pioneer is Called to Beyond
Joseph ( Matterson) See, son of a Union County pioneer of 1865 and a resident of this valley all his life died at his home at 1307 Jackson this morning after a lingering illness. He was born June 4, 1875 in this county and was 54 years 5 months and 12 days of age.
Funeral services will be held at the Summerville Chapel at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon. The funeral cortege will leave the Snodgrass & Zimmerman Mortuary at 1 o’clock.
He leaves his widow, Mrs. Ida See; his father Benjamin See, and seven children; Adrian, Erma Turnbow, Melvin, Wilma, and Lela all of La Grande; Mrs. Maud Prow of North Bend and Mrs. Effie Williamson of Bingen, Washington.
