Potter, Lane R. – Obituary

Lane R. Potter, 64, of Baker City, died March 16, 2008, at his home after a battle with cancer.

A Celebration of Life service will be scheduled later. At his request, his body was cremated.
Lane was born on May 7, 1943, at Bloomberg, Pa., to Richard D. and Harriet R. Diehl Potter. He was educated at Newark, Del., and worked at various occupations.

He met Gail Curtis and they were married on June 7, 1986, in Delaware, where they lived until moving to Baker City in 1989. Lane worked as a landscaper.

He loved to sing gospel songs and play the keyboard weekly at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home. He was very active in the Agape Christian Center and was very proud of being a Christian.

He also was an avid hunter and fisherman and he also loved landscaping, gardening and had recently taken up wood carving. Lane also loved to laugh and tease, his family said.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Potter of Baker City; a brother, Melvin Potter of Newark, Del.; a niece and nephew; and his beloved companions, Pixie and Dixie.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heart ‘n’ Home Hospice, through the Coles Funeral Home, 1950 Place St. Baker City, OR 97814.
