Funeral services for Hattie Peeples, 61, 2332 Mitchell, a lifetime Baker and Baker County resident will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, April 22 at Grays West and Co. Pioneer Chapel. The Rev. Harry E. Darby of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the family plot at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Peeples died Wednesday morning at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital after an extended illness.
She was born August 20, 1912 in Durkee, the daughter of Izaac and Elizabeth McCaw Metzker. She had her schooling at the Auburn and Burnt River Schools. She worked in Sumpter as a store clerk for a time and was married to her husband, Clarence Peeples in Caldwell, Idaho on June 17, 1957. The past number of years she has been a homemaker in Baker. She was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence at home; one sister, Freta Leish of Oakridge, Oregon; one uncle Jeff Metzker of Baker; one cousin, Charles Hooker of Andersonville, California; two nephews, Darrell Metzker of Chehalis, Washington; and Douglas Leish of Oakridge and one niece, Mary Lou Harrison of Milton-Freewater. She was preceded in death by one brother.
