David Albert Pacheco, 53, a Baker City, Ore., resident, died Feb.20, 2007, at his home.

David’s memorial service will be held later this year during the 2007 Hells Canyon Motorcycle Rally held June 8 – 10, to allow additional friends and family to participate in his celebration of his life and the fun things that he enjoyed. David’s dear friend Ralph Shaw will officiate.

David was born on May 7, 1953, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Gloria Ann Krider (Osborn) and Daniel Pacheco. He grew up and attended schools in the Los Angeles area graduating High school in 1971. He then enlisted in the United Stated Army in March 1972. He promoted up through rank of Sergeant as a Military Policeman before ending his Tour Of Duty in the Army in 1976.

David married and had one son, David A Pacheco Jr., after leaving the Army, David learned and refined his welding skills on the docks of the Bellingham, Wash., shipyard dry docks. He then moved to Baker City in 2002. He moved to Texas in 2003 to assist his son David Jr. in helping raise grandson Hano Pacheco. David then moved back to Baker City in 2004. He was a driver for Baker City Cab for the last 2 years. One of David’s favorite places to be and enjoy the company of friends was at the American Legion Hall, Post 41, he was the Head Chef for major events that the American Legion hall sponsored.

Survivors include his mother, Gloria Pacheco (Osborn); father, Daniel Pacheco, of California; son, David Pacheco Jr. and grandson, Hano; brothers, Randolph Austin, of Vancouver, Wash., Dean Osborn of Irrigon, Ore.; sister, Kim Lawrence, of Kuna, Idaho.; numerous nieces and nephews; many very special friends, especially Abel and Puff.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents; numerous aunts and uncles. Any contribution can be made to the Baker City American Legion Hall.
