Laird, Georgie Neoma Jackson Mrs. – Obituary

Georgie Neoma Laird, 77, of Aloha, a former Halfway resident, died July 9, 2006, at Beaverton.

Her memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Pine Baptist Church at Halfway. Pastor Bill Shields will officiate. Visitations will be for family only. Burial will be at the Pine Haven Cemetery in Halfway. There will be a gathering for family and friends after the service at the home of Rob and Denise Laird at 1380 D St.

Georgie was born on June 20, 1929, at Roy, N.M., to George and Oma Jackson. She was raised at Albuquerque, N.M. She moved with her family to Halfway in 1944. She married her husband, Robert P. Laird, in 1945, and worked the family ranch. Bob died in 1985.

Georgie moved to Beaverton a short time later to be close to her family. She enjoyed her grandchildren and was adored by them. She will truly be missed by all who loved her.

She also was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Laird; and a grandson, Jason Laird.

Survivors include her sons, Rob Laird, and his wife, Denise, and Reggie Laird and his wife, Sylvania; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children through Coles Funeral Home, 1950 Place St., Baker City, OR 97814.
