Jones, Sharon Rose Burke Mrs. – Obituary

Sharon Rose Burke Jones, 60, of Baker City, died Feb. 20, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Health Services.

Her memorial service was at 2 p.m. today at Grays West & Co. Pioneer Chapel, 1500 Dewey Ave. There was a reception afterward at Gray’s West & Co.

Sharon was born on Jan. 25, 1946, at Davenport, Wash., to Iver and Louise Burke. She was a 1964 graduate of Columbia High School at Hunters, Wash.

She served in the Women’s Army Corps from 1965 to 1966. She worked as a certified nurses assistant in the Davenport/Spokane, Wash., area and later at Baker City, where she and her husband, Reve, moved in 1988. The couple celebrated 25 years of marriage before her death.

Sharon enjoyed crocheting and was a very giving person.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Michael Halland of San Antonio, Texas, and Heidi and David Decoeur of Cantwell, Alaska; her son, Justin Jones of Baker City; her father, Iver Burke and his wife, Diana, of Fruitland, Wash.; sisters and their spouses, Nancy and James Schrack and Linda and Pat Toulou, all of Fruitland, Wash., and Joyce Carroll of Belleuve, Wash.; brothers, Jim Fisher of Chehalis, Wash., and Jerry Fisher of Bellevue, Wash.; two grandchildren, Julia Hall and Steven DeCoeur; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society through Gray’s West & Co., 1500 Dewey Ave., Baker City, OR 97814.
